Daddy and Rachael, Day 3

Day three started off with some showers and we headed out to get the mail from Fran's P.O. Box and breakfast at the bakery. Unfortunately we forgot Fran's keys so we couldn't get the mail. We did get a nice breakfast at the bakery and ate outside.

After the bakery we headed off to Harris Teeter. We got some grapes, fruit salad, and lunch stuff (hot dogs). We headed home and straightened up for a bit then had lunch After lunch it was time for camp, so we headed out there. I dropped her off and ran a few errands with Pop-Pop.

After camp we dropped Pop-Pop off at home and Rachey and I headed off to the light rail station. She fell asleep on the way over (after asking permission!) and slept for about 15 minutes before I had to wake her - Frannie called! She talked to mommy for a few (as did I) and then Rach and I hopped a light rail train towards downtown.

Rach loved the train ride. When we got downtown we bought our tickets and headed over to California Tortilla for dinner (Rach's request). She had a quesidillia, a brownie, and some Sprite. After dinner we headed across the street to the ballpark. Our first stop (as always) was the jungle gym by Gate C. Rachael started finding imaginary kittens throughout the play area and would bring them to me for care.

Since it is a kid's discount night there was a moonbounce, face painting, and balloon animals upstairs. While we were wading through the mass of juvenile humanity Rachael made a friend - Sara. Sara was a few years older (she had just finished the first grade). Sara's parents are ushers and she just kind of wanders the ballpark as she wishes. I dunno.

After 4 innings we headed back downstairs so Rach could play on the jungle gym some more. On the way we stopped by the fan assistance center to use their private potty (a 4 year old girl is too old for the men's room and too young to go into a stadium women's restroom by herself). She played for a while longer at the jungle gym before we headed off to the train.

When we got home I didn't even pretend that she was going to sleep in her room. We curled up in my bed and knocked out pretty quickly.
